A second conflict of the faculties
Abstract
The Hegelian Left and late Young Hegelianism were born both as a theoretical project and as an attempt to implement these theories politically. Thus, the members of these movements sought to gain a hegemonic position in academic spheres in order to promote their theories. This attempt took place in the faculties of philosophy, theology, and law, where they aimed to combat the anti-Hegelians as well as the political and religious conservatives. This academic project failed, which compelled the Young Hegelians to rethink their own theories and radicalize their political positions, from then on positioned outside the State.
