ABSTRACT: In line with the hypothesis of interpretation put forward by Schelling and Hegel, this article aims at showing how both philosophers conceive the relationship between art and nature. By focusing on the similarities and dissimilarities of their theoretical approaches, it becomes possible to appreciate the new status given to aesthetics within the hermeneutic horizon explored by their philosophies. Far from suggesting any structural identity between these two world views, it just intends to diagnose the affinity between several perspectives, bringing to light some orientations, which are often forgotten due to the differences that underline these authors.
